Cytometry Technician: Olivai Finney

Olivia Finney is a Cytometry Technician at the Flow Cytometry Facility here at Caltech. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from California Polytechnic State University SLO, where she previously worked as a student researcher studying antibiotic sensitivity in the microbiome of native California tick species. She has five years of hands-on lab experience with everything from co-infection assays to Biolog Phenotype MicroArrays to flow cytometry. 

Outside of her work at Caltech, Olivia is involved in the visual arts scene. She won a national Gold Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Award competition in 2018, and has since had her art featured in several local galleries, including Pasadena's own Armory Center for the Arts.
